October 2019 TBR

Welcome to my slightly late October TBR! I know we’re already a week into October, but I wanted to stay consistent with TBR posts because I have an idea forming for something to do next year. I’ve been feeling a little slumpy because I haven’t finished hardly any of the books I’ve been picking up, so this will be a little bit of a shorter TBR this month!

At least 2 *spooky* books

I don’t want to box myself in to any two specific books, but I just recently hauled quite a few books that would fit, and I did a post about good spooky books so I’m planning on reading at least two of those that I haven’t read yet! Right now I’m leaning towards Anna Dressed in Blood and Teeth in the Mist, but that could always change!

There Will Come A Darkness by Katy Rose Pool

There Will Come a Darkness by Katy Rose Pool

I started this one in September but I haven’t finished it yet, and I don’t want to add it to my ever growing pile of I-was-really-enjoying-this-book-but-for-some-reason-I-never-finished-it. It’s giving me some major Assassins Creed: Origins vibes, but that could also be because I’ve been OBSESSED with that installment into the Assassins Creed franchise lately. It just feels like a lot of Ancient Egypt and Ancient Rome, with some Ancient Greek thrown in too!

Angel Mage by Garth Nix

Angel Mage

I was so kindly sent a finished copy of this book from the publisher, and I immediately started reading it when I got it a few days ago! Right now I’m only about 60 or so pages in and while I’m a little confused about the angels, I’m starting to understand the magic more and I’m so curious about what Liliath’s plan is! I’ve seen quite a few reviews that mention this is inspired by The Three Musketeers, which even 60 pages in I can already see the resemblance even though I haven’t read the original story!

Dreamer’s Pool by Juliet Marillier

Dreamer's Pool

I have a copy of this book in mass market paperback because all the other editions were quite expensive everywhere I was looking, and while I don’t mind reading mass market paperbacks, I have found that since I started blogging and especially bookstagramming, I’ve been getting more paperbacks and hardcovers because it’s easier to pair them for photos, so I have more of them to read than I do of the mass market versions. Then one day I was browsing BookOutlet (this is totally not sponsored, but BookOutlet should totally sponsor me! *wink wink*) and I found the entire trilogy in hardcover for $6 a piece and I knew that I needed to buy them, and now that they’ve arrived I want to read them so badly!

Obsidio by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman

Obsidio

Firstly, you have no idea how many times I’ve gone to write Jay and Amie’s names and have flipped their last names. It’s truly a tragedy. Secondly, I have been in a bit of a book hangover from this series and the only way to fix it will be to finally finish the series. I know I’m going to be so sad once this series is over, but my need to know what happens outweighs my sadness!

There are the books I’m hoping to read in October! What are your reading plans? Any of these that you think I should prioritize?
