I mentioned a few times recently on Twitter that I’ve been in a reading slump lately, and my wrap up really proves that point! I also said that the break I took away from blogging was to do more reading, and while I technically did read, I never finished anything. It’s gonna be a pretty short post today, so let’s just hop right in!
I struggled with most of this book, but I kept pushing through it because everyone was always talking about how crazy and unexpected the ending is. Let me just say that everyone is correct when they say that you will NEVER guess this ending!
I didn’t read nearly as many books this month as I usually do, but that may be due to the fact that we are getting closer to the end of the year which means I’m getting closer to my Goodreads goal! I definitely think that I’ll pass that goal, but I just feel like maybe I should slow down and enjoy the books a bit more than just trying to crank them out.
I had a completely different post planned today, but I just finished reading Kingdom of Ash yesterday and I just want to talk about it so badly that I decided to get my
review thoughts up today so I can chat with people about what has happened! I will be discussing things that happened in the book, so if you haven’t read KOA yet you may not want to read the rest of this post. But just know that I don’t think I will ever recover from this book.

Ask me how my book ban is going. I’m 100% failing, in case you were wondering.
I always think to myself at the end of the month that there is no way I read more than 5 books because I’m always starting books and then putting them down for another book, but when counting up my books read this month I was surprised to find that I finished 7 books this month!
I have so many books that I really really want to read before the end of the year, so I’m making this list to hold myself accountable to try to get at least some of them read! If any of these books seem interesting to you, click on the cover and it will take you to its Goodreads page!
I really wanted to talk today about DNFing books. I mainly just want to get my thoughts out there and see what everyone thinks about DNFing books.
I used to be one of those people who had to finish a book whether I liked it or not, mainly because I wasn’t buying the same amount of books that I have now. In fact, growing up I was mainly a serial re-reader because I almost never got new books! Now, its extremely rare for me to go a full month without buying at least one or two new books.
Because the amount of books I buy has changed, so have my views on DNFing books. (For those of you new to book slang, DNF stands for Did Not Finish). I now have so many books that I want to read and blog about, that if a book doesn’t hold my attention or if there is something about the book I don’t like, I feel a lot more comfortable putting that book down.
